Le Carrefour

On the outskirts of the new city centre of ’s‑Hertogenbosch, Le Carrefour has been built – a vibrant place where living, working and education come together. STRABAG acted as the developer and main contractor on this project.

Le Carrefour is a mixed-use development in which housing, work and social benefits play a key role, and which forms part of the urban regeneration of a former industrial site near ’s’s-Hertogenbosch, where new functions have been introduced to enhance the quality of the area.

The Paleiskwartier forms a cohesive whole in terms of the materials used, whilst each building is recognisable within the complex thanks to its own architectural style. The same applies to the 145 flats.

The high-quality architecture is the work of Vera Yanovshtchinsky. She has sought to ensure that the homes and façades blend seamlessly into their surroundings, whilst at the same time making optimal use of passive solar energy.

The façades are constructed of brick, and extensive use has been made of transparent materials.
