Kramer Quay Wall

At the Prins Willem‑Alexander Harbour in Rotterdam, the joint venture comprising De Klerk Werkendam and Züblin Nederland B.V. has constructed a new quay wall and crane track on behalf of the Port of Rotterdam Authority and the Kramer Group. The project, known as City Terminal – Kramer, represents a significant modernisation of the existing port infrastructure.

The aim of the project was to replace the existing embankment with a high-quality inland waterway quay featuring crane tracks, carried out in accordance with the agreed technical specifications and schedule. This has made the quay suitable for intensive transhipment activities and future-proofed its use within an urban port environment.

The works were carried out in an operational port, which placed high demands on planning, safety and logistical coordination. By combining expertise in hydraulic engineering and civil engineering, the consortium comprising De Klerk Werkendam and ZÜBLIN Nederland B.V. was able to complete the project efficiently and in a controlled manner.

With the completion of the new quay wall and crane track, City Terminal Kramer now has a modern and robust inland waterway quay that contributes to improved functionality, operational capacity and sustainability of the Prins Willem-Alexander Harbour and the Port of Rotterdam as a whole.
