DNV Barendrecht
A laboratory and office have been built for Det Norske Veritas (DNV) on the small island in Vaanpark, Barendrecht. The project provides DNV with future-proof premises that allow scope for growth and innovation.
DNV was based in Rotterdam, where its operations no longer fitted within the old building and the planned expansion for the coming years.
To meet the brief, intensive work was carried out on a plan that met DNV’s requirements. These requirements included accessibility, links to public transport, and a location close to the old office and a residential area. STRABAG succeeded in finding the right site on the market that met all the requirements and was therefore able to realise a comprehensive plan. The building for DNV Barendrecht comprises approximately 4,500 m² of office space and 1,300 m² of laboratory space.
Work was carried out to a very tight schedule. It was a comprehensive process in which time, money, quality and information came together in a precise and unique way. As a result, DNV was provided with premises that are in line with the company’s guiding principles and strategies for the coming years.
