STRABAG Bouw en Ontwikkeling BV developed a modern and efficient distribution centre for Philips Lighting BV (today Signify) at the Flight Forum Business Park in Eindhoven, combining bespoke design, speed and high-quality spatial design.
STRABAG Bouw en Ontwikkeling BV developed a new distribution centre for Philips Lighting BV at the Flight Forum in Eindhoven. The complex comprises approximately 17,600 m² of distribution space and approximately 1,700 m² of office space. In collaboration with Habeon Architects and contractor Heembouw, the building was completed in just eight months.
The distribution centre is a bespoke design that occupies only a third of the floor area of the old distribution centre, yet still offers additional storage capacity thanks to its 12-metre height. The more compact layout also increases processing speed: the distances to be covered within the building are considerably shorter, saving time. A distinctive feature of the design is the façade, which contains not a single right angle.
The new distribution centre is located at Business Park Flight Forum, cluster 6. This high-quality business park is situated near Eindhoven Airport and covers a total area of 65 hectares. More than half of the available plots have now been allocated. Philips Lighting BV occupies the entire Cluster 6, making it the only stand-alone plot at Flight Forum.
