Biomass heating plant
A key project in making regional heating more sustainable and an example of international cooperation.
On 4 December 2012, ZÜBLIN Nederland signed the contract for the construction of a 44 MWth biomass heating plant in Purmerend, commissioned by Stadsverwarming Purmerend B.V. (SVP). This plant will enable SVP to supply approximately 25,000 customers with 80 per cent of their heat from renewable sources.
The contract value amounted to approximately 8.30 million euros and included all architectural and civil engineering works. In addition, ZÜBLIN Nederland was responsible for coordinating the process installation, which was carried out by Weiss A/S from Denmark. The working language for the project was English.
A distinctive feature of this project was the BIM engineering approach, which was developed in close collaboration between the 5D department in Stuttgart, the structural engineering department (CTB) in Antwerp and the on-site project teams.
