Amadeus The Hague
ZÜBLIN Nederland was responsible for the development of the Amadeus retail and residential complex on a prominent corner site at the junction of the Spui and the Kalvermarkt in The Hague.
The project was developed by Ontwikkelingsmaatschappij Kalvermarkt B.V., a joint venture between Provast and a.s.r. Vastgoedontwikkeling.
The name Amadeus refers to a remarkable historical fact: around 250 years ago, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart lived on this site. In this way, the project links the site’s rich history with a contemporary and urban design.
The overall plan comprises approximately 8,500 m² of retail space and 76 flats, including associated private parking spaces. The first three floors of the building are occupied by a clothing chain, creating a vibrant commercial ground floor. From the fourth floor upwards are the flats, comprising owner-occupied and private-sector rental properties, designed with an eye for comfort and urban living.
Amadeus has given this central location in The Hague a new lease of life, harmoniously combining living, shopping and history.
